The European Commission has opened a public consultation to allow citizens and organisations from across the EU to give their feedback on the effectiveness of the Rural Development Programmes that were funded from the Common Agricultural Policy budget for the period 2007-2013. This consultation, that will run until 20 April 2018, is the opportunity to assess what worked and what did not work during the 2007-2013 period, to improve rural development programming in the future.
All citizens and organisations are welcome to respond to this consultation.

The kick-off meeting of the EU project "LeMO” took place in Brussels on November 7, 2017. Around 15 participants and European Commission Project Officer, Filipa Vieira Matias, attended the kick-off meeting to plan work packages and the development of first strategies. The meeting was chaired by LeMO coordinator Professor Rajendra Akerkar of Vestlandsforsking, Norway.
The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2017) took place in Brussels between 20 -22 June. Western Norway Research Institute (WNRI) participated with three researchers who were getting updated on future initiatives in the EU on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
