EU network for Sogn og Fjordane invited experts to project workshop in Sogndal, 31 May 2017.
Henning Maagerud, senior advisor from the Research Council of Norway informed H2020 about the H2020 assistance in international cooperation on emergency preparedness, and about the potential for the IT sector in the next work program.
Geir Gjørsvik, CEO of Paneda, talked about Norwegian actors who want to go global, what opportunities are in H2020 and how they can use their experience with the application process in the H2020. Paneda works with Digital Radio (DAB +) and security systems in tunnels and buildings.
Haavard Stensvand, County Preparedness Manager at the county governor of Sogn og Fjordane, briefed on his work on preparedness in the county.
Rajendra Akerkar, Professor from Western Norway Research Institue, presented his ongoing projects at Vestlandsforsking in the research area of emergency preparedness and big data. He talked about new project opportunities in H2020 in the area of ICT and preparedness, and gave tips for the development of project applications, establishing networks and involvement of end-users.
Representatives from industry, public agencies and R&D institutions in the region participated in the project workshop to find new business opportunities using research and innovation programmes funded by the EU.
Throughout the workshop, we became acquainted with others and got to talk about opportunities in H2020 and shared best practices. The goal was to specific announcements in the H2020 to develop ideas for solid project applications in research and innovation. It is the Research Council of Norway, which finances this networking activity and funds the regional EU network for Sogn og Fjordane.
